I am thinking about switching to Eikon. What does it entail?

I am a Thomson Reuters customer and am interested in Eikon. How can I upgrade?

Do I have to install Eikon to use it?

No, you don't have to install anything to gain access to Eikon's leading content, news, apps and workflow. Eikon Web Access enables you to use Eikon wherever you have an internet connection and a web browser. Go to eikon.thomsonreuters.com and click ‘Sign In’. However, to take advantage of the full desktop experience, you must download and install Eikon.

How else can I access Eikon?

As well as installed desktop (with accompanying Eikon Office capabilities) and Eikon Web Access you can also benefit from Eikon Mobile which is available for Apple iOS & Android devices. View your monitor lists, news, browse markets, access Eikon Messenger and much more.

I’ve forgotten/do not have a password. How can I get one?

Go to your Eikon login screen and reset it by selecting ‘Forgotten your password?'

Are there training resources available for Eikon users? 

Whether you just need the essentials or are or interested in a specific feature of Eikon, you can visit the training page anytime to take advantage of online tutorials. Alternatively, access the Training app in your Eikon by typing ‘training’ in the search bar.

What are the system requirements for running Eikon on the desktop?

Can I use Eikon on a Mac®?

At the present time, Eikon cannot be installed natively on Mac® operating systems so users would need virtualization software to run in Windows to get the full desktop experience. However, users can access a zero footprint version in their web browser (Chrome/Safari) and Eikon also comes in a mobile app version which runs seamlessly on your iPad®, iPhone® or Android™ device.

What APIs are available to use with Eikon?

All of our Eikon APIs are available here, which includes the Eikon Desktop API (for users who require programmatic access to our data on the desktop) and the Side by Side Integration API (allows you to connect your desktop applications). Users can also build, manage and distribute their own applications using the App Studio SDK.

Is Eikon available as a mobile app?

Yes, you can access Eikon as a mobile app, Apple iOS & Android devices. Alternatively, for tablet devices you can use the Eikon web access (Chrome, Safari, IE11).

What is the App Studio?

Eikon users benefit from App Studio by getting access to specialized apps built by diverse providers or by building their own apps commingling internal data with their proprietary content – all are tightly integrated with native Eikon capabilities. Developers can build apps using Eikon’s App Studio SDK, Page Express and Element Library.
